Meet Lisa

Larisa (Lisa) Shabelskiy, a journalist, an educator and her team founded PetATet in 2020 after successfully rescuing and adopting two Puerto Rico hurricane survivors, Luka and Lucy.

Lisa and her team always had a dream to help the voiceless animals to end their suffering on a much larger scale. Lisa and her team had spent the next two years building  their Sanctuary for abused, abandoned and unwanted animals to rehabilitate, medically treat and socialize these animals for successful adoptions.  The Sanctuary is her life’s mission.

Today, Lisa and her dedicated team work with high-kill shelters in Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia. The unwanted, abused animals are extracted from these facilities within an inch of their lives. They are later carefully evaluated and medically treated by skilled veterinarians fully funded by PetATet.

The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something

The rescue journey did not stop there. Lisa and her dedicated team immersed themselves into the dark existence of abused and unwanted animals in Eastern Europe, where the general public brutally abuses homeless dogs and cats. Countless painful rescues of innocent animals from inhumane conditions convinced Lisa and her team that they will never stop saving the voiceless lives. The Sanctuary built in MonteNegro was for one purpose only: To save as many helpless animals as humanly possible.

Helping these brave survivors find their forever loving homes is the most rewarding part for PetATet team. It is Lisa’s life long dedication to these animals as they struggle in these brutal conditions all around the world, raising awareness of the need for animal welfare laws, and for an end to animal cruelty.
